July 1 again at 830 hit for tree down!
E614 along with 8 members removed a tree totally blocking River St in Simpson.
June 30 2009 Brings early morning MVA on the 171 in Simpson!
Around 830 E614 along with R51 were hit for a 2 car MVA on the Simspon-Vandling Highway better known as the 171. E614 arrived first and conrtoled the scene. Assisting PSP and FP 61 with traffic while also assisting with pateint care.

June 28 2009 Minor MVA on Morse Ave leaves E614 sitting in house.
No responce from our engine. EMS called by PSP for Evaluation!
June 27 MVA on Owego Trp.
E614 responded to a Motorcycle MVA on Owego Trp in Fell Twp Mid Day Saturday. Leaving one Vic to go to Hospital. E61 handled traffic along with FP 61.
Storm Leaves Fell Twp in some Disaray!
June 26, 2009 Station 61 was tapped for a car into a house on Owego St in Simpson. E614 responded along with the boys from Cottage Hose.
Fire Police was dispatched to a Flooding problem on Main St providing Traffic control.

June 11 09 Station 61 responded to assist PSP with a man on roof wanting to jump. Man was talked down by members of GSHC
June 12 09 E614 responded to Owego Trp for a MVA with entrapment over a bank. There was no entrapment, Ems 51 handled the Vics while E614 set up for traffic assisting Fire Police. R51 was diverted to a MVA in Carbondale at the same time.
June 13 09 While just arriving at Waymarts parade E614 was dispatched to a MVA with injuries on Main St in Simpson. E614 was cancelled in route because E613 responded instead. Safety 61 Frank Evarts had Main St command!
Monday Night MVA in Richmondale.
On Monday June 8 2009 Grattan Singer was dispatched to a Head on 2 Car MVA at the intersection of Valley View Terrace and the 171. E614 arrived on scene set up for traffic control assisting Fire Police. We operated for 30 mins before returning. Box E614,R51,51-9 PSP and Forest City PD.
Another MIDDAY MVA !
On May 29, 2009E614 responded to a 2 car MVA on Main St in Simpson. E614 arrived on scene handled the Haz Mat and clean up. Fire Police handled traffic. R51 and 519-518 handled the vics. E614, R51, EMS51.
Fire in Machine at GENTEX brings out 61 and 51!
On May 28 E614 was called out by Lt 61 Unis while Carbondale City responded to a taped alarm Box 19 at Gentex, being that Gentex is in Fell Twp ! E614 was assigned to the hydrant, L51 and E51 were also on scene, fire was put out by employees.
Busy Wednesday for 61
Station 61 will be recerting for CPR and AED tonight at 7 at the fire Hall. Tim Barron will be the instructor. Also station 61 will be putting Brush Truck 61 in service tonight, it has been long awaited! Also on the plate tonight E614 will be equiped with our new AED!
MIDDAY MVA ON MAIN ST
Around 2pm on Wednesday May 27, 2009 station 61 was tapped out for a MVA with injuries. Chf 61 Joe Unis Sr responded to the scene and cancelled all units enroute, no injuries or fluids down E614 was on scene for 15 mins.

Wildland Search and Rescue class at Whites Crossing VFD finished up today ! With station 61 now having 6 trained in WSAR! We at station 61 are also looking forward to all future classes in WSAR at the WCFD!

MVA on Jefferson St turns dangerous!
Just after 10 on the 23 of May GSHC firefighters along with R51 were hit for a Mva on Jefferson St, but then it was changed to the 171. Finding no Mva on 171. E61 along with Rescue checked Jefferson street, finding the MVA. Car into trees 35 feet into the woods! When extracating the car from the woods ChF61 Unis told his members to stand clear of the cable in case of it snapping and hurting someone. Well the ironic thing was that just minutes after giving his order the cable did snap! No one was hurt ! It just goes to show, anything can happen whenever. Nothing is routine.
E614 and firefighter Bob Unis were in the May 2009 edition of the 1st Responder Magazine for the Mva rollover, with Heavy Fire!
Another CO2 alarm on Dundaff St in Fell Twp.
E614 along with R51 and 51 EMS were dispatched to 330 Dundaff St for a CO alarm. E614 arrived first and Quickly put the 4 gas Meter to work finding readings of 21 ppm at the front door. Before proceding any farther CF61 Joe Unis Sr requsested R51 pull there meter also and pack up. CF61b Sam Herchick along with Captain Herchick and Safety Frank Everts Packed up and went to work. The source of the problem was quickly detected CF61 Unis requested crews vent the house. House was turned back over to the owners in about an hour! The box was R51,E614,Ems51
Station 61 Pulls Both Engines on Car Fire!
Station 61 pulled double duty for a car fire on the 171. CHF Unis arrived on scene putting all companys back up but 61. Blown Motor! Wayne Co units also ran the call as it came through Wayne County but was in Lackawanna. BOX wasE614,E613,R41,E42,EMS51

May 1 Fp 61 handled traffic call!
May 2 brings Brush fire, ENG613 along with S62 with there RUV and also R51 and there RUV handled the call. A very good Response from all twarts fire. E613, Sq62, R51 was first due. The box is rounded out by BT26, Station75 ! Fire ChF Unis was the IC. Special Called where RUV62,51.
MVA on the 171 Brick Hill brings out Engine Crews in the early Mornings Hours. Engine 61 along with Rescue 51 handled the Call!
Co Alarm not routine!
E614 responded to Dundaff St. in Fell Twp, Lt 61 on scene first reported home owner smelled plastic burning, when R51 crews arrived on scene packed up along with E61 officer CAP61 Herchick before even entering the house a reading of 20 ppm was detected. Crews quickly found the problem, cleared the house. House was turned back over to home owner for about an Hour!
April 29 brings 2 alarm Day!
The 61 was hit for a Cabin Fire on Jefferson St in Simpson. Engine 613 along with R51 put the fire out. Our Thanx goes out to our first alarm Box, SQ62,BT60,L51,R51,E614,E613,Ems51,E42,T75.
Just back in service E42 requested us to standby while they work a MVA in Uniondale.
APRIL 28 Brings a 2 run Tuesday!
E613 along with BT60 were dispatched to Rt106 in Fell Twp for a brush fire. Lt Unis was first on scence while giving the size up wind picked up and started the fire up hill! Now with a structure in danger, Lt Unis called for station 24 Greenfield, C61 hit the scene and Comand was given to him Assigning, E24 and T24 to work the right flank of the fast moving fire which at the time was spreading quickly towards a pile of tires which eventually lite up! E24 crews along with 61 forestry personel knocked the head of the fire down stopping what could have been a serious situation, E613 and BT60 crews worked the rear of the fire and the left Flank quickly surpressing the fire! R51 handled rehab and EMS , Sq62 was dispachted for man power to help along with the mop up of fire. Special Thanx to all those who helped!
While back at station, C61b Sam Herchick called in a small brush fire, at the bottom of the Owego Trp Engine Company 61 quickly knocked out the fire!
Snow Piles Up 5 CALL Day for station 61 Volunteers !!!!!!
At around 1130 E614 was dispatched to a MVA on Dundaff and Owego Trp. While in route E613 and E42 out of Wayne Co was dispatched to a second MVA within a Mile of the first MVA Crews From E614,R51,51EMS Handled the chaos well!!!!
Not Even back in service for 1 hour we were again hit for a Tree on wires on the owego Trp. This was called in by PSP! E613,R51 were units that ran this Call.
With power outages hiting Fell like a brick Station 61 along with Ladder 51were dispatched to Cresant Court Care Center in Fell Twp. C61 on scene put all back up. Accidental Trip of the alarm!
While that was going on Lt Unis and Eng61 John P went on an investigation of a tree down, FellTwp DPW handled the tree removal
