Full Moon Starts crazy Weekend!
3 MVAs, Investigation and Struture Fire fills weekend !
The Clear Crisp Saturday Night was distrubed when a Pick-up and Motorcycle Collide on State Rt 106 in Fell Twp. E61-4 was dispatched Responded within 2 Minutes to the MVA. Upon arrival E614 set up some extra lighting for safety, and FP61 was assigned Traffic and shut down 106 for 5 hours. R51 crews with 61 personnel cleaned up the scene using speedy dry and booster line to wash down the road !
Sunday afternoon brings out 1st due alarm for a working structure fire, while crews worked the fire, 61s 3rd Alarm MVA box was dispatched for a child hit by a Car on the 800 block of Main St. in Simpson, with E51 and R41,R51 handling the Call for us . We would like to thank Sq62 along with others who assisted over the week end!
Monday morning investigation brings out Fp61 and Chief Officers to the scene of the MVA sunday morning ! We worked the scene for about 2 hours.
Friday August 15 Started the Weeked with a MVA rollover on state rt 106 with Injuries! E614,R51,519 worked the Call.
Fire in Crystal Lake area of Fell Township brings 18 box along with E614!
Station 61 responded with Engine 4 to Evergreen Dr, Box 18 was dispatched first with Station 24 to the alarm when they arrived on scene they found it was in Fell Township, C18 called for our response. Already knowing it was our alarm we had crews waiting for dispatch. Fire was put out before incoming units arrived. All units Cleared quickly.
July 29, 2008 STATION 61's tones were dropped for a SUV into a Motorcycle in Simpson!
E614 responded to Froble St in Simpson for the MVA Chief 61b arrived on scene to take fire command. E614 arrived and assisted EMS with patient Packaging and with traffic Control! Units Cleared in about an hour.
July 29 Fire in front of Station 28, Wayne County Brings out E614
Station 61 gets hit in the early morning to stanby at Uniondale Fire Dept while they were working a structure fire in Pleasant Mount. Units Cleared at about 8am in the Morning!

Station 61 Shuts Down Exit 7 of the LVIH assisting Whites Crossing!


July 13th Strong storm brings out station 61!
Station 61was dispatched to Rt171 Crews found road flooded out. Man hole cover shot off. It was placed back on and cones set up for warning. All units back in about 20 mins.
July 12th Called to assist EMS Cottage Hose!
Manpower was requested to assist station 51 EMS, on River St in Simpson. 61 fire crew assisted with lifting and securing patient in the ambulance while Cottage EMS worked the patient !
July 9th 2008 Station 61 was put on Stand by to cover the upper valley!
With the working barn fire in Clifford Twp pulling crews from areas 41,42,43 and 24. Engine 614 was called by station 41 to stand by and cover the upper valley while they worked on the fire!
While on stand-by for the fire. Fire Police From GSHC worked a funeral assisting with traffic and crowd control on the 500 block of Main St in Simpson.
61 Crews busy on the 5th of July
First alarm sounded around 130pm for the smell of wires burning on Rt 171 in simpson Upon arrival 51 ems monitor was on scene and reported building occupant is burning wires in a stove and there is no fire. Lt Joe Unis Jr assumed IC and held all companies at quarters and went in on the investigation. Everyone returned to service soon after. E42 was called by Lt 61 just in case, they are the next Engine company for fire's on the north side of Fell Twp.
At 17:OO hours E613 went on a public assist call to the Richmondale section of Fell Twp, to clean out blocked ditches. E42 also assisted on this call with there special torpedo nozzle. Lt 61 was Command on this alarm!
July 3nd 2008 Fire Under Bridge Brings out Engine 613!
Around 1130pm station 61 was dropped for a brush fire under the Simpson Bridge! E613 handling this alarm along with station 61s 2nd alarm Box, upon arrival E613 had to back down Water St which was not easy. Then pulled 200 ft of booster line and deployed hand tools to put out the fire! Station 61 with a crew of 9 men and help from Chief 62 on the alarm. E613,Bt60,B75,T75,R51,51-9 were all dispatched!
MVA with Heavy Entrapment puts station 61 and Rescue 51 to Work!!!!
Around 6pm Wednesday night E614 along with R51, 51-9, CH1 where diapatched to Rt 106 3/4 of a mile from the Carbondale City line. R51 arrived on scene first to find the SUV on its roof. They then went to work extricating the patient from the car. E614 came upon the scene placing the Engine properly and then pulled front discharge while the extrication was taking place. With patient in the hands of EMS, E614 then went into traffic duty and assisted PSP with its investigation. Fire Chief Joe Unis Sr was IC assisted by Paramedic 690 of the Rescue 51 Company. While on scene Rescue 51 was dispatched to the Casey Highway for a Motorcycle crash along with our friends to the north SQ62. Rt 106 command was terminated around 8pm units went back in service shortly there after!!!
